David Binderberger Full Bio

David Binderberger, an Austrian guitarist, composer, and producer, found his lifelong musical companion at the age of 14 - the guitar. Since then, he has cultivated an impressive body of work, composing over 250 pieces and recording more than 20 albums, while also taking on the role of producer for 5 albums. His versatility as a musician spans across diverse genres, including Jazz, Pop, R'n'B, Hip Hop, Funk, and Jazz Manouche, showcasing his mastery in blending various musical influences. His latest solo endeavor, the album 'Now,' is a mesmerizing fusion of acoustic, jazz and world music, inspired by his journeys through the diverse landscapes of Europe.

The enchantment began at the age of 14 when David Binderberger stumbled upon his father's old guitar. From the very first strum, he was captivated by the instrument's allure. By the age of 17, he had embarked on his musical journey by forming his first jazz trio and releasing his debut album, a stepping stone to performing at some of Austria's most prestigious jazz festivals.

His educational journey led him to earn a degree from the 'New Jazzschool Munich’ in 2007, followed by studies in Austria at the Anton Bruckner University and the Gustav Mahler Private University for Music. During this formative period, he was guided by the expertise of mentors and teachers like Thomas Wallisch, Michael Sagmeister, Harri Stoika, and Joscho Stephan.

As his horizons expanded, he delved into diverse musical genres, embracing pop, funk, hip-hop and jazz manouche. A founding member of notable bands including "The Talisman Collection" (2010), "Scheibsta & die Buben" (2014), and T.O.L. (2019), he embarked on European tours, eventually performing at the world's largest open-air music festival.

After 15 years of enriching the music scene through collaborations, composing for fellow artists, and contributing to over 15 albums, the time was ripe for his solo debut. In 2019, he unveiled his debut solo album, "Repeat," followed by the evocative "Now" in 2022. David Binderberger's virtuosity on the guitar knows no boundaries, transcending genre limitations. His original compositions masterfully fuse classical, acoustic and world music with jazz manouche elements, creating a captivating and harmonious tapestry of sound.
